How the chooser works
It is a fixed lookup, not a recommendation engine: the same four answers always give the same result. Your skin answer decides how cautious the guidance is. Your piece decides whether the extra earring note appears and which collections we point to. Your style and optional taste decide the finish suggestion, which is a matter of taste. Your wear answer decides the care tips.
Every FARUZO piece is 316L stainless steel with a plated finish in gold, rose gold or silver tone [FZ]. Because the base metal is the same across the range, the real choice with us is the finish, and the chooser is built around that.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this medical advice?
No. The tool gives general information from the sources listed on this page. It cannot diagnose an allergy or tell you what is right for your skin. The American Academy of Dermatology says to see a board-certified dermatologist if you think you have an allergy, or if a rash blisters, becomes infected or comes and goes [S1].
What are FARUZO pieces made of?
Every FARUZO piece is 316L stainless steel with a plated finish in gold, rose gold or silver tone [FZ]. We call it nickel-safe. That is our own word and has no legal or medical meaning [FZ].
Can I wear 316L stainless steel with a nickel allergy?
Ask a dermatologist first. 316L steel itself contains nickel in the alloy [S2]. A 1997 Contact Dermatitis paper reports that low-sulfur (0.007% or less) stainless steel grades such as 316L released very little nickel in laboratory sweat tests and caused no reactions in nickel-sensitised patients; commercial 316L may differ [S2]. The studies we cite tested bare stainless steel, not plated finishes or FARUZO pieces. A 1994 case report describes a nickel-allergic patient who developed dermatitis from a stainless steel [S3]. Low nickel release is not zero risk.
Why do earrings get an extra note?
The AAD names earrings, earring backs and watches among the biggest culprits for nickel allergy [S1], so we add an extra note whenever you pick earrings.
Does my skin tone decide which finish suits me?
We have not found scientific evidence that a skin tone or undertone suits one metal colour. The chooser treats colour as taste: match what you already wear, or mix tones on purpose.
How do I make a plated finish last?
Put jewelry on after perfume and lotion, wipe it dry after wearing, store it separately, and take it off before showers, swimming and workouts. This is general care advice, not a promise about how long a finish lasts.
Does the chooser pick a finish for me?
It suggests one as a matter of taste, based on what you already wear and the optional warm, cool or neutral preference. You choose the finish on the product page, because the options differ from piece to piece.
Is my information saved or sent anywhere?
No. There is no email field, no account and nothing is stored. Your answers live only in the link in your address bar, which is what the Share button copies.
What if a piece does not suit me?
Every FARUZO order is covered by a 90-day return policy. Personalized pieces are made for one person, so check any spelling before you order.
